A Few Tips About Kayak Wet Exits

Hanging upside-down, underwater, in a flipped-over kayak taught me several things. I lacked the hip muscles necessary to do a “hip snap” and flip the boat upright. I lacked the coordination and skill to “brace” a tipping kayak to keep it from flipping in the first place. Heck, by the end of the exercise I lacked the upper-body strength to pull on the spray skirt one more time after dumping water from the kayak. Read more »
