Seafood is centuries old, but cooks have only seasoned it properly for the last 70 years. That’s when OLD BAY Seasoning, a blend of 12 herbs and spices, revolutionized the way people seasoned seafood.
“OLD BAY is a one-of-a-kind flavor that adds an unmistakable bold punch to all types of dishes,” said Adam Walker, an OLD BAY chef.
Created in 1929 by Gustav Brunn, a German immigrant living in Baltimore, OLD BAY Seasoning started out as an exclusive seasoning for Maryland crab eaters. OLD BAY spread through word of mouth (or taste of mouth) and now spans the nation. Seafood lovers consumed approximately 50 million ounces of OLD BAY Seasoning in 2008. Though OLD BAY is primarily a seafood seasoning, it now enhances the flavor of burgers, fries, chicken and much more.
As a part of the continual goal to please the taste buds of everyone, OLD BAY offers a few recipes that are sure to make your summer sizzle.
