Faces of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic fatigue syndrome is very real and very debilitating, but for years women — its primary victims — were told their woes were “all in their heads.” One problem is that sufferers often don’t look sick. A national traveling photo exhibit, The Faces of Chronic Fatigue, will be displayed at The Maryland Science Center (601 Light St., Baltimore 21230). This exhibit features the portraits and stories of CFS patients, family members and health care professionals. Fashion and celebrity photographer George Lange took the portraits. For information about the CFIDS Association of America, visit www.cfids.org. (CFIDS stands for chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome.)
