Christmas at Mount Vernon
| November 28, 2008 | to | January 6, 2009 |
Mount Vernon is decking the halls with a new special daytime program, Christmas at Mount Vernon. Exciting attractions include a dozen themed Christmas trees, a gingerbread Mount Vernon mansion created by former White House pastry chef Roland Mesnier, historical chocolate-making demonstrations, 18th-century dancing and a real Christmas camel — just like George Washington had on the grounds in 1787!
Look for a special appearance by the first First Lady: Mrs. Washington gives a few tips on entertaining guests. Warm up with a chocolate drink during the 18th-century chocolate-making demonstrations!
When: November 28, 9a.m., running daily until January 6.
WHERE: George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens
Southern end of the George Washington Memorial Parkway
Just 16 miles south of Washington, D.C.
